The world descends on Oslo again in 2020. After a year-long hiatus, where we’ve been shut out, Oslo World opens the gates for the exotic and the esoteric sounds from the world beyond Norway. Jaeger takes up the clarion call with a stage across three days, where we hold up a torch for the rebels of the world alongside Oslo World in 2020.
Celebrating the icons of resistance after a year and a half of turmoil, we’ve assembled a group of DJs who represent the rebellion spirit from the club’s DJ booth. BigUP Oslo, SPFDF, Carl Fuck, Levi oi and Mobilegirl join us over a long weekend in November to dessimate and unravel all known conventions.
Levi Oi sends her audiences on a musical journey through every set. Expressing emotions with deep infectious melodic tunes, strong baselines paired with a cheeky sprinkle of techno, her style can veer seamlessly between pumping techno and playful house. Within 5 months of her DJ career, she played her first Boiler Room Debut in Ho Chi Minh City. Next to organising electronic music events and representing underground communities in Saigon, she was also the tour manager of Red Axes and local guide for their EP “Trips in Vietnam” in 2019. Levi Oi was born and raised in Germany, but lived in Melbourne, Dubai, London and most recently Berlin before she moved to Saigon at the end of 2018 – to discover her roots and to become a DJ.
mobilegirl is a producer and DJ born in Munich, based in Berlin. With just three years of swishing through the Berlin electronic music scene she can easily be counted to one of its most promising young artists. She is known for her disrupting edits of early 2000s RnB songs and her dextrous DJ-Sets that manage to create an arc and cohesion between a very eclectic selection. Her mixes are often being called ‘collages’ for their unusual style.
Electronic music producer, DJ and live act From Sandefjord (Vestfold). Kim has been recording sounds and manipulating them into his own environment from an early age. Between producing and DJin, Kim has been a prolific fixture on Norway’s electronic music scene for a while.
g-HA & Olanskii
Two pivotal bodies in the sphere of Norwegian electronic music, g-HA & Olanskii are an event, a club, a DJ duo, and a musical authority for Norway. Individually adept as DJ, selectors and tastemaker, Ola “Olanskii” Smith-Simonsen and Geir “g-HA” Holger’s musical voices unified for Sunkissed, an events series that has become the backbone of Oslo’s electronic music scene and beyond.
Oslo`s Øyvind Morken (pronounced Oy-vind) has a unique ability to play everything from A to Z of what genres concern. Working the dance floor in the most unexpected ways. For the last nine years he has held down a residency at Jaeger. Eight of them weekly under the Untzdag banner, a wordplay for Onsdag, Norwegian for Wednesday. It became an institution in Oslo. Drawing in a crowd of open-minded party freaks for nights of wild abandon, and where musical diversity and self-expression was encouraged.
