Johanne Barman | WNDR | MC Kaman
Saturday at Jæger is about guilty pleasures and heady dance floors. Saturday is a day of contrasts, between an accessible melody and the primordial beat, with a focus on the dance floor. MC Kaman is back in the cellar as we head into winter. Ever the iconoclast, there’s no musical taboo that MC Kaman is willing to accommodate and the music in his record box is the music of an innocent youth, carefree and unperturbed by the opinion of others. There is no irony to be found here… only a good time in the company of good popular music.
Johanne Barman is no stranger to Jaeger’s Nightflight or Oslo’s nightlife landscape. She has carved out a niche playing all over the city with sets that can go from establishing a dance floor to primetime. Music has always been a big part of Johanne Barman-Jenssen´s life, AKA Johanne Barman. In 2011 she decided to direct that passion towards a focus on Dj’ing and she hasn’t looked back.
A larger than life figure and one of the proprietors of Oslo’s “hard core clubbing” (sic) institution, MC Kaman might play underground, but his sole purpose in life is cultivating a convivial atmosphere. His CD cases quite literally bulge with guilty pleasures and affable arrangements from the charts. There’s no musical taboo that MC Kaman is not willing to accommodate and the music he plays. There is no irony to be found in an MC Kaman set… only a good time in the company of good popular music. MC Kaman POPs!
