The alumni of Frædag guests have reached stratospheric proportions. They’ve arrived from the farthest flung corners of the world, tying connections from the origins of Disco to the latest in Techno. The basement and the sauna echo with memories of legendary nights from some of the best in the business with two distinct figures appearing through hazy recollections of Fridays at Jaeger. g-HA & Olanskii emerge unwavering at Frædag, a night that remains our window to the world at Jaeger. Øyvind Morken sets the tone for every Frædag with an early set for afterwork trips through a psychedelic record collection, before g-HA & Olanskii arrive with their distinguished guest for the night.
Prins Thomas cooks up some rare grooves and slow steppers from the furthest reaches of a vast record collection for a new residency at Jaeger. Taking the scenic route around his record bag, through the obscure corners of Soul, Funk, Jazz, Psychedelic Rock, IDM and Dub the Full Pupp mainstay and DJ provocateur travels the serene pastures of a vast musical library in search of those records that will bring Serenity Now(!) in these unprecedented times. Prins Thomas comes home in this residency, back to his roots with a flair for the eccentric, for a listening experience that turns the focus back onto the music.
Serving up a heavenly goulash of sounds from the sauna, Prins Thomas steps up so we can all take a beat as he plays through an eternal warm-up set for a dance floor that remains dormant during the pandemic. It’s Prins Thomas all night long, selecting tracks from the temperate zones of the BPM range, playing outlier DJ sets with his truly eclectic approach. The Oslo DJ legend keeps it cozy in our backyard for a limited capacity with seating-room only, but for those unable to attend we’re streaming the Prins directly to your screen from select channels.
g-HA & Olanskii
Two pivotal bodies in the sphere of Norwegian electronic music, g-HA & Olanskii are an event, a club, a DJ duo, and a musical authority for Norway. Individually adept as DJ, selectors and tastemaker, Ola “Olanskii” Smith-Simonsen and Geir “g-HA” Holger’s musical voices unified for Sunkissed, an events series that has become the backbone of Oslo’s electronic music scene and beyond. They have played a fundamental role in the development of Norwegian music abroad with residencies at Panorama Bar, Fabric, Robert Johnson, Into the Valley and Moog, where they’ve given fellow Norwegian artists a platform to the outside world, proving to be a motivational force behind Oslo and Norway’s thriving electronic music scene, through Sunkissed and more recently through Jæger – the club founded by Olanskii and host to their internationally acclaimed Frædag residencies.
Oslo`s Øyvind Morken (pronounced Oy-vind) has a unique ability to play everything from A to Z of what genres concern. Working the dance floor in the most unexpected ways. For the last nine years he has held down a residency at Jaeger. Eight of them weekly under the Untzdag banner, a wordplay for Onsdag, Norwegian for Wednesday. It became an institution in Oslo. Drawing in a crowd of open-minded party freaks for nights of wild abandon, and where musical diversity and self-expression was encouraged.
