g-HA & Olanskii  | Bjørn Torske

Could it be… a festival… an opportunity for people to gather unperturbed en-masse… to dance? It’s here, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. We can finally shake those limbs loose that have atrophied over the course of almost two years. We can be outside and mingle with strangers and now we can dance.

Ola always said we’ll be dancing again by the time that Øya comes along, and while he might have been optimistic in 2020, in 2021 it’s become reality. Øya festival returns to Øslo’s music calendar and that means Øya Natt returns to Jaeger’s calendar. Projecting a welcomed din from its perch in Tøyen, Øya travels to our little urban enclave by night as we host another year of Øya Natt featuring.

Bjørn Torske

He was into Heavy Rock music early on and wore these ridiculously tight stretch jeans labeled Levis 666. From rock he leaned into EBM and together with Trømsø co-horts Rune Lindbæk and Ole Mjos changed the face of House music and established Norway as an individual voice within the counter culture echelon. From Disco to Techno, Torske is a DJ of many talents and moods, and we just tend to hold on and go for the ride at this point.

g-HA & Olanskii

Two pivotal bodies in the sphere of Norwegian electronic music, g-HA & Olanskii are an event, a club, a DJ duo, and a musical authority for Norway. Individually adept as DJ, selectors and tastemaker, Ola “Olanskii” Smith-Simonsen and Geir “g-HA” Holger’s musical voices unified for Sunkissed, an events series that has become the backbone of Oslo’s electronic music scene and  beyond. They have played a fundamental role in the development of Norwegian music abroad with residencies at Panorama Bar, Fabric, Robert Johnson, Into the Valley and Moog, where they’ve given fellow Norwegian artists a platform to the outside world, proving to be a motivational force behind Oslo and Norway’s thriving electronic music scene, through Sunkissed and more recently through Jæger – the club founded by Olanskii and host to their internationally acclaimed Frædag residencies.
