In the weekend that’s been Te Dans, once again shined a little light out in our backyard with a set from visiting guest Carls1. The Norwegian DJ brought a little of nostalgic flair to the Te Dans concept digging deep through the history of electronic music, from the present day to the eighties, with music that played in bold percussion and evocative synthesised melodies. Tracks that prey on your most primal urges to move your feet are punctuated with hollow percussive sounds and transported along from track to track through elastic bass-lines. Carls1 goes from jazz, to disco, to proto-house and through the hour he manages to capture a little of that pre-emptive summer feeling through music.
